I recently shared this story with clients, so this was at the top of my mind when another blog post came across my feed. It’s so funny because this article arrived just as I was asking myself, “how can I serve today, and what does my community need to hear from me?” I love these serendipitous moments when I am tuned in and listening. Coincidence or something more powerful?
On to the story…
A teenage boy is working under his Chevy Impala when all of a sudden, something goes terribly wrong. Within seconds, he is knocked unconscious and trapped under the car’s weight of roughly 3500 pounds. Next door, his mother, while visiting family, hears the crash and, within moments, displays superhuman strength as she lifts the car off of her son while he is moved to safety. When asked how she did it, she responded, “prayer gave her the strength.”
This courageous mom experienced something known as a fight or flight response where a part of the brain, the hypothalamus, is activated and releases stress hormones such as adrenaline, cortisol, and endorphins, giving you the burst of energy and a reduction in your perception of pain; that is what makes the seemingly impossible, possible. Research is still being conducted on this phenomenon, but we can use this knowledge to our advantage when it comes to overcoming our own challenges, whether they are big or small.
Did you know we only use a fraction of our strength and energy? You have so much power locked up inside of you, and you would be astounded to learn what you are truly capable of achieving.
What does this all mean, and how can we tap into the power of our mind?
Our thoughts are energy, and like energy attracts like; this all happens deep, on a subconscious level. When you are in tune with what you want, you may start to notice things falling into place or a series of events or comments people make that leave you scratching your head because it’s such a coincidence in how they are aligned. When we are in this flow state, things happen quickly for us, seemingly without conscious thought or trying.
That is because we are aligned on all three planes of understanding; spiritual, intellectual, and physical. In other words, we are displaying a positive mental attitude, which is comprised of our thoughts, feelings, and actions.
“The body is an instrument of the mind. It does exactly what the mind tells it to do. Your attitude (thoughts, feelings & actions) is determined by the nature of ideas you choose and permit yourself to get emotionally involved with.” -Bob Proctor
When is the last time you accomplished something that, at one time, seemed nearly impossible? How did that feel? If it’s been a while since you’ve had that feeling, no worries. All that means is it’s time to get out of your comfort zone so you can ignite and reenergize this incredible power that is already inside of you.
You can tap into that power any time you want. I can show you how to align and focus your energy so you can truly live at your highest potential. Book a call with me to see how I can help you.
